Outdoor puzzle trails
How outdoor puzzle trails work.
Follow a route through real streets, solve a clue at each waypoint and keep every answer. You will need them all for the master puzzle at the end.
Four connected stages
Every stop contributes to the final answer.
The theme and difficulty can change. The link between the waypoint clues and master puzzle remains.
Choose a puzzle trail
Pick a theme, audience and level of challenge that suit your group.
1Follow the waypoints
Use the app map to move between the real locations on the route.
2Solve each clue
Complete the challenge at every stop and keep the answer for later.
3Crack the master puzzle
Combine what you collected to complete the trail’s final challenge.
4Puzzles shaped by the place
The route is part of the challenge.
A puzzle trail takes the familiar logic of an escape game outdoors. Street names, plaques, buildings and other details can provide the information needed to solve a question. The app connects those observations to the next challenge.
Different themes create different kinds of play. A family trail can mix accessible clues with memorable local facts. The Impossible Pub Crawl is intended to combine difficult quiz rounds with selected York pubs. In both cases, the answers gathered on the route matter again at the end.
Self-guided, with practical details per trail
You can work through a trail with your own group. Each listing will state confirmed availability, route information and access details rather than relying on general assumptions.
Know before you go
Choose the right challenge for your group.
Individual trail pages will explain their audience, difficulty, route and any timing restrictions when those details are confirmed.
